I’ve been betting on Eurovision for ten years. Ten years of joy, of throwing my hands up to my head, of shouting at the TV — and of learning, often the hard way, how the most fascinating betting market in entertainment really works, and how the Eurovision Odds driving it move from January onwards.
My name is Jessica Rodríguez. I was an amateur singer for years and that world led me to Eurovision — first as a fan, then as a bettor. Today I want to share everything I know with you: no fluff, no generic filler articles, just the passion and experience of someone who puts her own money on the line every May.
This is my most complete guide to date. We’re going to talk about Eurovision betting, the best Eurovision betting sites I’ve personally tried, what happened in Basel 2025 and how it changed our perspective, the 35 participants for Vienna 2026, the current odds, the new voting rules, and the strategies I use to try (and sometimes manage) to squeeze profit out of Europe’s most unique festival.
If you only read one paragraph of this article, make it this one: the betting favourite doesn’t always win. And Basel was the ultimate proof.
Sweden entered the 17 May final as the runaway favourite. KAJ, with «Bara Bada Bastu», was priced around 4/5 (an implied probability of 56%). Everyone was talking about them. Social media was flooded with memes and the song was a total party. The result? Fourth with 321 points. An outcome no one expected.
And who won? JJ, an Austrian–Filipino countertenor who sings at the Vienna State Opera, with «Wasted Love». He scored 436 points: 258 from the jury and 178 from the televote. He was second favourite at odds of 9/4. No miracle: it was exactly what many experienced bettors saw coming.
But the biggest shock of the night was Belgium’s elimination in semi-final 1. Red Sebastian was 1/9 to qualify (a 91% implied probability) and still missed out. Those of us who bet on his qualification lost. A stark reminder that in Eurovision nothing is guaranteed.
Israel finished second with 357 points. Here’s the kicker: it won the televote with 297 points but got only 60 from the jury. Tommy Cash (Estonia) fell just one point short of Israel with 356. And Switzerland, the host country, received zero points from the televote. Zero. The contest is unforgiving.
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria. Key dates are 12 May (first semi-final), 14 May (second semi-final) and 16 May (the Grand Final). The hosts will be Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski.
The most striking aspect this year: five countries are boycotting the contest due to Israel’s inclusion. Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain have withdrawn. Spain was part of the «Big Five», which now becomes a «Big Four» (France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom) with direct access to the final.
This has direct consequences for betting. There are 35 participating countries, the lowest figure since 2003. Spain stepping out removes a historic source of televote support for Romania. The absence of the Netherlands and Ireland also shrinks the contest’s reach.
Here’s the full ranking according to the bookmakers as of today. These prices are a composite from major European books (Betsson, Bet365, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Unibet, Betfair Exchange, bwin and more). You can see the full, live-updated table in the odds section at the top of this page.
Composite odds gathered from Eurovisionworld, Oddschecker and Betsson. These odds change daily and will swing dramatically during rehearsal week in May.
If you’ve searched “Eurovision odds” on Google, you’re probably seeing numbers like 2.70, 6.00 or 15.00 next to each country and wondering what they mean. Odds are simply how bookmakers express the probability of something happening — and how much you’ll win if you’re right.
Decimal (European) odds — The most common format in Europe. If Finland is 2.70, for every €1 you bet you’ll receive €2.70 if it wins. To calculate implied probability: 1/2.70 = 37%. But books include their margin (overround), so the real probability is a bit lower.
Fractional (UK) odds — Popular in the UK. Decimal 2.70 is equivalent to 17/10. For every £10 staked you win £17 plus your stake returned.
American (moneyline) odds — Finland at decimal 2.70 would be +170 in American format (you win $170 for every $100 staked).
Phase 1 (Sept–January): Only “outright winner” markets. Odds based on history and reputation. Sweden always starts short due to its recent dominance.
Phase 2 (Feb–March): When countries pick artists and reveal songs, prices move sharply. The biggest move in 2026 was France, jumping five places in a single day after unveiling Monroe.
Phase 3 (April): A relatively calm period. It’s my favourite window to bet because prices haven’t yet reacted to the “live performance” factor.
Phase 4 (May, rehearsal week): THE KEY MOMENT. Odds move more in these 5–6 days than in the previous 4 months combined. A stunning rehearsal can halve a country’s price.
Phase 5 (post-semis and final): The last 48 hours. Here I use Betfair Exchange to trade and lock profits or cut losses.
Heads up: this is my personal opinion, not financial advice. Always bet responsibly and only with money you can afford to lose.
1. Finland (odds ~2.70) — «Liekinheitin» is a song that gets in your head and won’t let go. Linda Lampenius has presence to spare, and singing in Finnish adds an authenticity factor that historically works. She’s the clear favourite, but at 2.70 there’s still value.
2. France (odds ~6.00) — Monroe burst in with «Regarde !» and shot up five places in a day. France typically scores well with juries and has direct access to the final. If the staging delivers, this is my pick for the podium.
3. Denmark (odds ~7.50) — «Før vi går hjem» is an atmospheric Danish ballad with huge jury potential. Denmark hasn’t won since 2013 and there’s hunger for victory. At 7.50 it’s my value bet.
4. Greece (odds ~10.00) — Akylas with «Ferto» connects with both televote and jury. Greece historically benefits from Cypriot and diaspora voting.
5. Italy, Sal Da Vinci (odds ~36.00) — My speculative shot. «Per sempre sì» has gone viral on TikTok. At 36.00, even a small stake can pay handsomely.
«The bookmakers’ favourite only wins Eurovision about half the time. The other half is pure adrenaline.»
Malta sends Aidan with «Bella» to Eurovision 2026.
Aidan won MESC 2026, the country’s national selection, before heading to the contest.
Current odds place Malta at #14 in the ranking, with an average price of 73.40 and an implied probability of 1%.
This is what «Bella» sounds like:
Over the years I’ve tried dozens of betting sites for Eurovision. Here’s my detailed take on the ten I use most, including three I consider essential: 22bet, Ivibet and BetLabel.
An important note: these sites operate under Curaçao or Malta licences and are aimed at the international market. Always check legality in your country before signing up.
My go-to bookmaker for Eurovision since 2021. They have one of the most complete special markets offerings I’ve seen. When May arrives, 22bet don’t just offer the outright winner but also semifinal markets, top 5, head-to-head between countries, and by-region rankings. Their 100% up to €122 bonus with just 5x wagering on accumulators at minimum odds 1.40 is reasonable. The minimum deposit of just €1 lets you start with very little. Crypto and e-wallet withdrawals land in under an hour.

My most recent discovery and it’s already earned a permanent spot in my Eurovision rotation. Their combo bonus is excellent: 100% up to €100 plus a 15% free bet up to an additional €100. The rollover requirement is 5x on system bets (3+ selections, odds 1.40+), which fits Eurovision accumulators perfectly. They accept more than 10 cryptocurrencies, have e-wallet withdrawals within 2 hours, and a minimum bet of just €0.10.
+18 · Play responsibly
Ivibet pleasantly surprised me a couple of years ago. Their 100% up to €150 sports welcome bonus is one of the most competitive on the market, with a manageable 5x rollover. What I like most for Eurovision is its clean interface: you don’t get lost among a thousand options and can find entertainment markets quickly. They accept Bitcoin and Ethereum, and e-wallet withdrawals are processed in about 12 hours.
+18 · Play responsibly
+18 · Play responsibly
Nitrobet is the ideal book for those who bet primarily with cryptocurrencies. Its sports welcome bonus is 100% up to 25 mBTC (about €600 at current rates), with a rollover of just 17x that’s offset by the fact you can use it on any sports bet. Crypto withdrawal speed is one of its strongest points.
+18 · Play responsibly
BetRebels stands out for something few Eurovision bookmakers offer: a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) license, considered one of the strictest and most reliable in Europe. That gives me extra peace of mind regarding the protection of my funds. Their 100% up to €150 bonus is generous, they cover more than 50 sports with over 1000 football events, and their ‘specials’ section where they place Eurovision is quite detailed.
+18 · Play responsibly
Sportaza is a book with a very complete sportsbook covering everything from football to horse racing. For Eurovision, its strong point is that they post entertainment markets early: they typically open Eurovision Odds as early as January, when many books still have nothing available. It’s ideal for me to find early value odds before the market adjusts.
+18 · Play responsibly
Vegasino has something many overlook: it offers odds in both Asian and European formats. This matters because the Asian format lets you see the bookmaker’s margins more clearly. Their 100% up to €200 bonus is the highest among all the books I review here, with 5-6x rollover. They accept Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT.
+18 · Play responsibly
Fezbet is a solid option that in the last two editions surprised me with slightly higher-than-average odds in some ‘outsider’ markets — those countries in the 10th–20th range in the betting. If your strategy is to look for value in second-tier picks, Fezbet can give you better numbers than the better-known books.
+18 · Play responsibly
Wazamba closes my list with a different touch: it’s the bookmaker with the most fun, gamified look of them all. But don’t be fooled by the design: its sportsbook is serious, with more than 1000 football events and a 100% up to €100 bonus with just 3x rollover, the lowest on my entire list. For Eurovision, Wazamba offers winner and ‘to qualify for the final’ markets.
+18 · Play responsibly
Powbet is a book I use as a complement to compare odds. Their 100% up to €100 bonus with 6x rollover is standard, but where it shines is in coverage: from football to ski jumping to water polo, and yes, Eurovision too. They accept four cryptocurrencies and have Jeton, MiFinity and AstroPay as fast alternative methods.
+18 · Play responsibly
I’ve condensed the most important features of the ten sites into a quick comparison table. This is what I look at when I decide where to place each bet:
+18 · Juega con responsabilidad. Estas casas operan con licencias internacionales (Curaçao, MGA).
If you’re a beginner and want to start small: 22bet. With just a €1 minimum deposit and 5x rollover, it’s the most accessible entry door. Plus, its Eurovision market coverage is the widest.
If you prioritise regulatory safety: BetRebels. It’s the only one on my list with a Malta Gaming Authority licence.
If you want the best cash bonus: Vegasino with 100% up to €200, or Nitrobet if you bet with crypto (equivalent to ~€600).
If you want the lowest rollover: Wazamba with 3x is unbeatable. It means that with a €100 deposit and a €100 bonus, you only need to wager €600 in total.
If you bet with cryptocurrencies: 22bet (25+ coins) or Nitrobet (crypto-focused with fast withdrawals).
Yes, betting on Eurovision is completely legal in Malta, as long as you do it through bookmakers licensed by the MGA (Malta Gaming Authority). The MGA is the national authority that regulates all online gambling activities in Malta.
MGA-licensed bookmakers that tend to cover Eurovision include names like bet365, Betfair, Betsson, LeoVegas, Unibet and Paf, among others.
The ten betting sites I’ve analysed in this article operate with international licences, mostly from Curaçao eGaming, except for BetRebels which holds a Malta (MGA) licence. These sites do not hold an MGA licence for the Maltese market and are technically not authorised to offer services to residents of Malta.
Many people think Eurovision betting is just “who wins?”. Far from it. Eurovision markets are surprisingly rich:
Outright winner — The flagship market. Opens months before the contest and prices move constantly. This is where I place most of my bankroll.
Top 3, Top 5, Top 10 — Lower risk than outright winner. If you think Finland makes the podium but aren’t sure it wins, a Top 3 bet reduces your risk considerably.
Semi-final qualification — Books get 75–80% of qualifiers right, but there are always 1–2 surprises (remember Belgium in 2025).
Head-to-head — Who finishes higher, Finland or France? These markets remove the need to predict the overall winner.
Last place / Nul Points — Betting on who comes bottom. Usually very volatile but fun.
Jury winner vs. televote winner — Separate markets for each component. In 2025, JJ won the jury and Israel won the televote.
Top Big Four, top Nordic, top Balkan — Regional bets that offer value when you have specific regional insight.
If you’ve never bet on Eurovision and want to start with Vienna 2026, here are the steps you need to follow:
Step 1: Pick your bookmaker. Compare at least 2–3 before deciding. Check the ten sites I reviewed above.
Step 2: Sign up and verify your account. You’ll need your ID/passport, an email, and a payment method.
Step 3: Deposit funds. My advice: start with a moderate amount. You don’t need €500 for Eurovision; €20–50 is enough to diversify across 3–5 bets.
Step 4: Find the Eurovision markets. Look under “Specials”, “Entertainment”, or type “Eurovision” in the site’s search bar.
Step 5: Place your bet. Select the country, enter the stake, review the bet slip and confirm.
Step 6: Follow the contest and manage your position. During rehearsal week decide whether to keep your bet, use cash out to lock partial profits, or reinforce with new bets.
The EBU has announced the biggest overhaul of the voting system in years. These changes directly impact betting strategies:
1. Juries return to the semi-finals. Since 2023, the semis were decided by televote only. In 2026, juries and televote will jointly decide who qualifies. Countries with “jury songs” are much more likely to advance.
2. Jury panels expand from 5 to 7 members, with at least 2 members aged 18–25. This could benefit more contemporary entries.
3. The maximum number of votes per payment method is reduced from 20 to 10. This change responds to coordinated mass-televote campaigns. Lowering the cap dilutes the impact of coordinated voting.
What does this mean for your bets? In my view, the changes favour “balanced” favourites, those that land well with both jury and public. Finland and France fit this profile.
After ten years and plenty of euros invested, these are the strategies that truly work for me:
The most important betting window is rehearsal week in Vienna (early May). Prices move more violently in these days than in the previous months combined. If you can, wait to see first rehearsals before staking big.
I place my value bets in January–February, when odds are more generous. Backing Italy at 25/1 in February 2021 paid off when Måneskin won. But my safer bets go in after the semi-finals.
When consensus forms too strongly around a favourite, its price drops below its true value. This happened in 2025 with Sweden: everyone piled onto KAJ at 4/5, and JJ at 9/4 offered far more real value. I always look at the second favourite when the first is shorter than 2.00.
Spotify and YouTube plays are a leading indicator of the televote. If a song is exploding in streaming weeks before the contest, its odds typically take 2–3 days to adjust. That window is your opportunity.
Roughly 66% of winners perform in the second half of the final. Slot #2 is statistically the worst. Positions 15–20 are the “sweet spot”. When Vienna 2026’s running order is published, compare each favourite’s slot to these historical trends.
The #1 favourite wins only about half the time in the modern semi-final era (since 2004). However, 67% of winners come from the top 5 in the odds, and it’s extremely rare for a country outside the top 10 to win.
The most accurate year was 2019: the five pre-contest favourites all finished in the actual top 5. The least accurate was 2011: France entered as favourite and finished 15th.
For the semi-finals, accuracy is higher: books correctly predict between 7 and 9 of the 10 qualifiers in each semi. But there are always 1–2 shocks.
Odds are a very reliable tool to identify the leading pack (top 5–8), but within that group, nailing the exact winner is more about nuance than pure price analysis.
Block voting exists, but it’s more complex than many think. Four main blocs are usually identified: the Nordic (Sweden–Denmark–Norway–Finland–Iceland), the Balkan (Serbia–Croatia–North Macedonia–Slovenia), the post-Soviet (Ukraine–Georgia–Armenia–Moldova–Baltics) and the Greece–Cyprus alliance.
For Vienna 2026, the boycott alters these dynamics. With Iceland out, the Nordic bloc loses a member. With Slovenia absent, the Balkan bloc is weakened. And with Ireland out, the United Kingdom loses a historically friendly source of votes.
As for the Big Four, their historical performance is middling. Only Germany (2010) and Italy (2021) have won since automatic qualification began. France has been improving and finished seventh in 2025. In 2026, with Monroe as its act, France is my most solid Big Four bet.
The biggest books open “outright winner” markets between September and November of the previous year. Detailed markets (semi-finals, top 3, head-to-head) usually appear between April and May.
Yes, some sites offer in-play markets during the show. Betfair Exchange is the best option for live trading because you can buy and sell positions as the voting unfolds.
Eurovision is the entertainment event that moves the most betting money in Europe. Estimates exceed €50 million in volume every edition. In 2025, Polymarket reported more than $105 million traded on its platform alone.
If you reside in Malta, check your local tax obligations. As a rule of thumb, keep records and declare your net betting winnings in your annual tax return when required. MGA-licensed operators can provide an annual statement of your activity.
Odds are set by bookmakers based on a song’s popularity, historical results, public preferences and the volume of bets.
For the widest range of markets, we recommend 22bet, BetLabel and Ivibet, which offer competitive bonuses and special Eurovision markets.
Our prices update every 6 hours automatically from 14+ bookmakers.
Odds reflect market consensus and have correctly predicted the winner in most recent editions, but there are always surprises at Eurovision.
It depends on your risk profile. The outright pays more but the favourite only wins ~50% of the time. My approach: one main outright bet plus complementary Top 3 bets on different contenders.
If a country withdraws before the contest, your bet is usually voided and your stake returned in full. If the country competes in the semi-final but doesn’t qualify for the final, and your bet was on the “contest winner”, the bet is settled as a loss.
Finland sings in Finnish, Denmark in Danish, Italy in Italian, Albania in Albanian, Croatia in Croatian, Serbia in Serbian, Moldova in Romanian, Portugal in Portuguese, Austria in German, Montenegro in Montenegrin, Ukraine in Ukrainian and Latvia in Latvian.
I’ve spent weeks analysing every song, every price, every market move. And here’s my verdict:
Finland is the legitimate favourite, but at 2.70 you need it to win just to make a profit, and the favourite only wins about half the time. France is my strongest value bet at 6.00 because it combines jury quality with direct access to the final. Denmark at 7.50 is my value play. And Sal Da Vinci at 36.00 is my speculative punt.
But the most important thing I can tell you after ten years betting on Eurovision is: don’t bet more than you can afford to lose. Eurovision is unpredictable by nature. Betting is an ingredient that intensifies the experience, not a path to riches.
See you in Vienna. My slips are already printed.
